Heavy rains on Saturday led to traditional garage sales events being figuratively swept away. Even in October the monsoon season still appears to be in full swing in Arizona.
Many neighborhoods and communities put on garage sales events in the fall. Such events are an integral part of East Valley life. They serve sustainability by passing still useful items from one owner to the next. They also bring neighbors closer together.
Yet, with monsoon season still in full swing in October, Saturday's particularly heavy rains forced most neighborhood garage sales events to call it a day as early as 8.30am.
