Deeply under water in polls, leftists decry OPEC cutting oil production while at the same time doing everything they can to cut/kill US oil production. Video at the end of the article.
Radical far-left congresswoman Pramila Jayapal today blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) for interfering in the 2022 US midterm elections. According to her they do so by cutting oil production among OPEC states. Russia is not actually part of OPEC although Saudi Arabia is. By cutting oil production by 2 million barrels per day, they will cause oil prices to rise. This leads to rising gas prices at the pump, which hurts Democrats at the polls.
Yet, Democrats have, as soon as Biden took office in January of 2020, dramatically curtailed the domestic US energy industry, leading to a drop in US oil production by around 3 million barrels per day, from 13 million to 10 million. Daily production today is still 1.5 million barrels below the level it was when President Trump left office.
This means that Democrats, lead by Biden-Harris, directly caused higher gas prices. Now they complain that other countries are throttling production to raise prices.
Despite all her lies, Jayapal is correct in one assessment. Dependence on Russia and the Middle East for energy is bad. Yet, with their hostility towards the domestic energy industry, Democrats have increased our dependence on foreign oil, when just 2 years ago the US was energy independent.
Alternative energy sources could end dependence on fossil fuel altogether. However, the one alternative non fossil clean energy source that could supply abundant and reliable electrical energy at low cost is also hated by the left: nuclear power. The preferred energy sources of the left, wind and solar, are still too expensive and much too unreliable. When the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow, there is no power.
In truth, the left doesn't care about the environment and their panic making about climate change is a ruse. What it really wants to starve the US, and other Western countries, of energy in order to control the private market that needs this energy to function.
Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly have been complicit in these communist policies by voting for Biden-Harris' policies in the Senate. The same is true of radical members of the US House such as AZ-Rep Ruben Gallego D.
