Shots could be heard being fired in a North Chandler neighborhood after a car appears to have been hunting two pedestrians walking through the neighborhood.
Date & Time: June 4, 2025, approximately 10:30 PM
Location: Residential neighborhood near Anderson Junior High School, Dobson & Ray Rd, Chandler, AZ
The video shows two young people, possibly teenagers, hiding in the shadow under a tree while a black car drives by slowly. The vehicle emits a distinct sound, suggesting it may be electric, hybrid, or possibly suffering from a mechanical issue such as a slipping belt. A man walking his dog going in the opposite direction as the two pedestrians can be seen on the original video (cropped out here), possibly explaining why occupants of the car did not open fire in the first scene.
A short time later, another camera captures the same vehicle speeding back in the opposite direction. Moments afterward, three or four gunshots can be heard.
A nearby resident reported that the shots may have come from a .22 caliber firearm, though this remains unconfirmed.
Police responded approximately 20 minutes after the reported gunfire, and forensic units were later observed on scene. Authorities have not yet released an official statement. We will update this article as more information becomes available. The video below shows portions of the incident as recorded by two separate home surveillance systems.
